When I checked my email the other day I saw a story about this man who decided to do 26 random acts of kindness in honor of the teachers and children whose lives were cut short so tragically. You can see more about this here.
I talked to my family about it and we decided we would do the same. I decided with each RAK I would include a tiny card that reads #26 RAK. I don't know how long it will take us, but it's something we want to do.
I've felt so helpless and wanted to do something. This has hit our family close to home as we have a first grader and I can't even imagine this past week for these families.
So at this time of year when we have so much to be thankful for, why not to spread a little good. As a reminder that the good far outweighs evil.
I probably won't share them all, but to give you an idea. We paid for the person's order behind us in line at the Tim Hortons drive through window. We gave the girl at TH the RAK card to give to them.
Hopefully, I'll have a chance to blog a bit over the next couple weeks.
Blessings,
Susan
I love it! I haven't been doing it in an organized fashion, but I find myself doing a little more this time of year in general. I think it's a lovely tribute to the innocent children we lost.
ReplyDeleteI just saw something about Random Acts of Kindness on another blog today...this is a wonderful idea. The whole pay it forward idea is so awesome and just maybe it will hit someone who really needs a blessing in their life. My husband said that he thinks my mom was sent to heaven to welcome all those beautiful children. : ) I'm sure she hugged every one of them!
