My First Try at Galumpki & Other Baking.

Sometimes I look through my Food & Recipes board on Pinterest and my mouth waters. I've got so many things pinned. I try new things weekly. Today I spent the day cooking and baking. I made a third loaf of the Honey Oat Bread, the Better Than Anything CakeHomemade Galumpki & Homemade Caramel Sauce.

My grandfather use to take us to this church for a Polish dinner and we would have Galumpki. Since he passed away I haven't had them. I found a recipe and thought I'd give it a try.

Here they are all lined up before the sauce when on.

Have a great week!

p.s. my kids LOVED the cake! I didn't use a whole can of the condensed milk, maybe about 1/3 of it and I just drizzled the caramel over it.  I made my own, I  used about 1/4 of the jar I made. Links  to all the recipes are above!

  1. Oh God Bless you! Halupki ( as we call them ) are quite the time consuming thing to make...but oh so yummy! My husbands grandmother ( polish grandmother) made the best Halupki's. I tried them a few times...tasted just like hers ; )

  2. Moja babcia Majkowski wykonane gołąbki. (My Grandma Majkowski made cabbage rolls.) This is one of Steve's favorite meals! I serve it with mashed potatoes & candied carrots. I found a cabbage the size of a basketball at our local farm stand & made 50 of them! They freeze really well!! Thank you for making me think of my Babcia!
